The drop-in centre is one of the programmes of SPR Department Walhalla, which includes four independent programmes in Olomouc region - Drop-in Centre in Prostějov, Drop-in Centre Walhalla in Olomouc, Outreach Programmes in Olomouc and Work with Clients in Conflict with the Law.

Mission of Drop-in Centre

The main mission of the drop-in centre is to reduce risks related to non-alcoholic drug use and subsequently to improve life quality of the target-group clients from bio-psycho-social points of view. We try to motivate them to improve their life style and the quality of their lives.
Another main goal of the drop-in centre is to provide both the lay and expert public with information on drug issues, target group, new trends in drug use, trends in drug user treatment, methods of work, etc.

Goals and Principles of Drop-in Centre

The goal of the drop-in centre is to contact the biggest possible number of the people endangered with drugs and to offer them services based on the "harm reduction" approach - minimisation of negative bio-psycho-social impacts of drug use.

Another principle is low threshold, i.e. reduction of obstacles which the client could perceive as threatening and discouraging from using the services. The client can use them without fear of losing anonymity; the client does not need to make appointments or pay for any of the services offered, etc.

The drop-in centre services are linked to other specialised workplaces in and outside the region where the clients are referred to by the centre.

For whom the service is intended:

- Users of non-alcoholic drugs
- Family members, partners, friends of users
- Minors with drug-related criminal activities according to Act No. 218/2003 Coll., on juvenile courts
- Abstaining users
- Pupils and students of all school types

Primary prevention programme
Monday, Thursday: 8:00 - 12:00

Individual and family counselling
As per individual agreement

Services We Offer:

- Legal and social service - counselling, referrals, assistance with meeting the authorities
- Medical service - treatment, referrals to other related facilities, tests on HIV, pregnancy tests
- Psychological help and crisis intervention, both to users and close persons
- Syringe exchange
- Hygienic service (shower, laundry) and food aid
- Arrangement of detoxification and treatment
- Continuing client support after finishing treatment
- Streetwork activities in Prostějov, Plumlov, Konice
- Assisted employment programme
