Outreach programmes are intended for

• Drug users outside the network of existing services
• Particularly intravenous users with hazardous behaviour
• Young, recreational users
• Counselling is also provided to family members, friends, partners and pedagogues

Main Goal

The main goal of the service is to improve the situation of drug users, to prevent infectious diseases and their spreading, to prevent deterioration of health and social situation of drug users, to provide balanced information on the problem. The basic characteristic of the approach is active search, low threshold entry to the service, clients' anonymity, supporting motivation to change hazardous behaviour.

The outreach programmes are available

All the year round, five days a week (Monday - Friday)

By phone appointment with streetworkers on +420 776 377 734 or + 420 777 887 345 (Monday - Friday 13:00 - 19:00)

The outreach programmes offer:

• Crisis intervention in the streets of Brno, work at agreed upon places (including flats)
• Syringe exchange, other medical material, medical counselling
• Services of a car specially equipped for exchange programme in less accessible parts of Brno
• Social counselling and referrals to after-care facilities.

The programme of synthetic drug abuse prevention

is implemented by the team, it is intended for recreational drug users, in particular users of ecstasy. Counselling including tablet sample testing at dance parties, information + on-line counselling at www.extc.cz
