Drug service Vyskov

This project is a follow-up to the research called "Analysis of Drug Situation in Vyskov", in particular, its part focusing on field observations. The project should therefore focus on two main areas:

Contacting drug users - a result of active search for drug users in their own environment, this is a low-threshold service, which in the initial stage does not have any requirements on the client or on a change of his or her situation. The services are provided anonymously and they are often the very first contact of drug users with the helping institutions. As such, this outreach social work is appropriate for laying down the foundations of a future institutionalised form of the services for drug users.

Mapping drug environment - mapping and monitoring are basic components of field social work and the main activity of the programme in the framework of developing the services. The monitoring phase will last for approx. three months and afterwards it should naturally result in the actual form of service provision within the approach of "Harm Reduction" and "Public Health". Mapping shall include discussions on co-operation and interrelation of services with other institutions in Vyskov.

Field social work will, in this case, be complemented with counselling in the sphere of drug addiction. Streetworkers will have an office as a background for their streetwork services. The office will function as a provisional counselling room with limited opening hours. The project staff can invite their clients there for individual case work and be present at a particular time to provide counselling to the public, in person or by phone.
