Drug Services in Prison, Brno

Opening Hours:

Monday and Friday: 9:00 - 12:00

Operating Hours and Places:

• Remand Prison of Brno (4 times a week)
• Prison of Kuřim (3 times a week)

The service is intended for persons who:

• are in the Remand Prison of Brno, Prison of Kuřim and Prison of Břeclav - this is a personal contact; we correspond with clients in other prisons
• have criminal activity record along with a drug history and have a drug problem
• are interested in solving their problems and co-operate
• respect the rules with which they are acquainted during the first contact session
• are interested in subsequent treatment after discharge from prison or arrest
• or are the client's relatives or partners

Services are provided free of charge.

Main Goals:

The main goal of the project is to contact drug users in custody or in prison, to respond to their current drug and criminal situation, to create continuing subsequent treatment, to prevent recommitment of criminal activities of these clients, to offer help with their drug problem which is often the cause of their criminal behaviour.

We Offer:

• Individual therapy and counselling
• Crisis intervention
• Social work and social-legal counselling
• Social, educational and informational assistance
• Group therapy and counselling (Thematic Groups, Prevention of Relapse, Dramatherapy, Art Therapy, Self-knowledge Groups, Info Seminars)
• Post-penal care, continuing care - arrangement of detox and treatment, assistance service
• Assistance during criminal proceedings (in co-operation with the legal aid office "Právní poradna A.N.O.", co-operation with probation and mediation officers, etc.)
• Correspondence
• Information and counselling to client family members and close persons provided during the counselling hours - see opening hours
