Drop-in Centre Olomouc

The Drop-in Centre Walhalla is one of the projects of the Department, which associates six independent programmes in Olomouc and Zlín Districts - the Drop-in Centre in Olomouc, Streetwork in Olomouc, Work with Clients in Conflict with the Law, low-threshold club for children and the youth Kudykam in Olomouc, Drop-in Centre Želva in Prostějov and Drop-in Centre Charáč in Uherské Hradiště.

Service Goals

Our goal is to contact the largest possible number of people endangered with drugs, offering them services based on the approach of "harm reduction"; that is minimisation of negative bio-psycho-social impacts on the clients due to drug use.
Another principle is low threshold, i.e. reduction of obstacles which the client could perceive as threatening and discouraging from using the services. The client can use them without fear of losing anonymity; the client does not need to make any appointments or pay for any of the services offered.
The services of the drop-in centre are linked to other specialised workplaces in and outside the region to which clients are referred by the centre.

Services we offer:

• Legal and social service - counselling, referrals, assistance with meeting the authorities
• Medical service - treatment, referrals to other related facilities, tests for hepatitis C, HIV, pregnancy tests
• Psychological help and crisis intervention for users and close persons
• Syringe exchange
• Hygiene service (shower, laundry) and food aid
• Arrangement of detoxification and treatment

The service is intended for:

• Users of non-alcoholic drugs
• Family members, partners, friends of the users

Usual opening hours:

Monday - Friday: 12:30 - 19:00

Individual counselling:

Monday - Thursday: 9:00 - 16:00

Counselling and crisis intervention for parents and close persons:

Individual meetings upon prior agreement (Monday - Friday), contact Mgr. Hrubý .
